Kedharkanta. Nature’s gift to man

by Anirudh Nagraj Leave a Comment on Kedharkanta. Nature’s gift to man

PROLOGUE A month down and I still feel like it was only yesterday that I was puffing and panting to scale the summit of Kedharkanta. A peak situated in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in the state of Uttarakhand, northern India. I am delayed by a month because my thoughts were running in circles on how […]

The anxiety is building. The excitement is in the air!

by Anirudh Nagraj Leave a Comment on The anxiety is building. The excitement is in the air!

Yes! Almost time! Just a week away! I can’t hide my excitement! The number of times I have gotten goosebumps is probably the number at which Dow Jones stands in the current day market. You want to know why? I’ll tell you. Ah! Give me a moment to savour it. . . . I am […]

Navigating through nostalgia.

by Anirudh Nagraj Leave a Comment on Navigating through nostalgia.

And there I was, on different weeks, in different places. You might wonder why the nostalgia then. I did NOT feel one bit nostalgic. Oh no! Not this time! Instead, it was my parents who went on a trip down memory lane. One week, I was in Kodumudi, one week I was in Ariyalur; you […]

Pulchritudinous Pavana

by Anirudh Nagraj 4 Comments on Pulchritudinous Pavana

Here I am, writing about a beautiful place. Pavana. Title is reminiscent of a young girl named Pavana but, you guessed it, gem of a place. 30-35 kilometres from the heart of Pune, this place has everything a traveller can ask for, tranquility, serenity , beauty(again) , and a personal feed to satisfaction ; happiness […]

When the Mumbai sub-urban trains breathe the urban air.

by Anirudh Nagraj Leave a Comment on When the Mumbai sub-urban trains breathe the urban air.

It’s been nearly a couple of months since I stepped out of Bombay and you know what? I have never seen a place like this! My God, the life in Mumbai(older name is Bombay) is mechanical, lightning fast and of all things not good for a guy who thrives on laziness, the time keeping in […]

Let's open the windows of the Hawa Mahal.
953 windows.
It is only right that the name says Hawa, which means wind.
Beautiful at night.
Mesmerizing when seen in broad day light.
If you visit Jaipur, be sure to not miss the Hawa Mahal.
Our country is blessed to have such gems.

Beautiful isn't it?

#india2018 Rajasthan - Day 1 (1/3) - Amber Fort.
Seeped in history. The Mughal influence on the place as such is for all to see.
The temple on the forefront and the Mughal Dome to decorate the structure is the very illustration of complex cultures and the architectural brilliance.
The Amber fort, with all it's settings, showcases the might of the lords who ruled the place.

It also shows in my opinion , that the Mughals were clever tacticians as in no way, a war could be waged on the hills of this intricate yet incredible fort and hence entered into alliance through marriage of the princess of the state.

The next post will showcase the inner magnificence of the fort/palace.

The myth related to Talakad is mind blowing.
About 3 hours of a casual drive from Bangalore, this place is a perfect single day getaway.
The sand here is something that I have never seen in any other place in South India. Temples have been excavated from the depths of the ground and I heard from the locals that there might be many more temples in this once prosperous place.
Not to say that it is not prosperous today, Talakad, on the banks of the Cauvery , with it's temples is every architecture gazers dream.

This Misty place that is situated in the Western ghats and is about 6-8 hours drive from Bangalore.(depending on the speed). Slight drizzle and you see how beautiful the place is. Even without the drizzle. Kemmangundi is a sight for sore eyes. I read somewhere that Kemmangundi translates to pit of clay. But it is at an altitude. Like what? O.o

#bbctravel #natgeotravel #cnntravel Here. Let me take you deep into the Kalati falls.
Western Ghats is magical.
The rains make the place all the more special.
The Gush of the water., the wailing of the wind, the shiver of the trees make visiting the Western ghats a superb weekend getaway.
